We’ve been hearing a lot lately about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is expected to make huge changes in how people work, learn, shop, and more. Some of it sounds intriguing and possibly useful. But there’s also plenty that sounds concerning at the least. Even now, AI influences what books folks see on certain mega websites and social media. Who wants an artificial anything choosing our books?

Book Drive Wrap-UpOnce again, our community came through for our local kids! Together we donated $2,027 in new books! The focus of our book drive this year was "Books to Inspire Imagination" and the books were requested by the Early Learning Coalition of Florida’s Heartland (and they are thrilled to receive the books). Thank you so very much to all who contributed!

Celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride
This month we celebrate all of the beautiful identities of our LGBTQ+ community and honor the work to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ Americans.
We are acutely aware of the recent challenges and controversies about books, health care, drag shows, and more. This is all distressing to say the least. As an indie bookstore one thing we can do is highlight books with LGBTQ+ themes, to make more visible and help lift up the lives of LGBTQ+ folks, especially this Pride Month. We encourage you to stop in and check out our Pride table and select a book to read this month. This is the perfect time to read about those whose path may be different from yours.

This July, Find Waldo in Punta Gorda!It's almost Waldo time! Copperfish Books brings back a super-fun activity for KIDS and FAMILIES to do in downtown Punta Gorda this July — a Find Waldo Local scavenger hunt!
Find Waldo Local launched in 2012, and since then, hundreds of indie bookstores have hosted successful Waldo scavenger hunts across America. This month-long promotion is great fun for the whole family! And with 25Â local businesses participating, Find Waldo Local is a real indie initiative!
