You're Invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Party!

Are you a parent/guardian, student, staff or community member who HAVE volunteered or WILL volunteer any time this year at RMS? Then come join the Redmond Middle School PTSA for a Volunteer Appreciation Party for all the hard-working people out there that make our organization great...in other words, YOU! Bring a friend or family! The RMS PTSA Board of Directors would really like to show how much we love our volunteers and to, of course, have some fun!

When: Friday, June 10 5:00 PM
Where: Anderson Park Picnic Shelter
7802 168th Avenue NE (map)

Stay for a while or just a little, as your schedule allows! The event starts at 5:00pm at Anderson Park Picnic Shelter and goes until whenever the last person leaves! Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and we'll enjoy some early summer weather!

We will have some snacks available for attendees, but we've heard that some people might want to demonstrate their culinary skills. If this describes you, feel free to bring some treats that you can share. We look forward to any delicious creations! And as we strive to be an environmentally-friendly organization and reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible, we ask that you bring your eco-friendly bottle for water refills.

We hope to see you all there!

If you're not already, please fill out the LWSD Volunteer Application with Raptor Technologies as soon as possible to give the approval process enough time to complete. COVID protocols dictate that volunteers must have proof of vaccination, but masks are up to the individual. Thank you so much for your time and support! Please feel free to send this link to other RMS families to find out if they can volunteer!

Bear Tracks Awarded Outstanding Newsletter!

RMS PTSA has placed Bronze in the 2021-2022 Washington State PTA Awards of Excellence for Outstanding Newsletter! The Local PTA and Council Awards of Excellence Awards Program recognizes PTAs whose level of effort in specific areas help them make a difference in their community.

THERE WILL BE NO BEAR TRACKS IN 2022-2023, unless you volunteer! The RMS PTSA does not have a Newsletter Editor for next year. PLEASE VOLUNTEER NOW! Help keep our families and community connected by sharing the activities news from the PTSA. At an interval of your choice, but no more than once every two weeks, you would create and publish a newsletter by compiling articles submitted by PTSA, staff, and clubs. The work can be done from home, completely on-line, and the schedule has flexibility since the newsletter can be written ahead at your convenience and sent at a scheduled time. The submission and publication process has been streamlined so it is very easy to understand and use! Please email communications@rmsptsa.org if you are interested or have any questions.

School & LWSD

End-of-Year Activities

For 8th grade students:
* The Trip to the Family Fun Center has been cancelled due to the impacts of COVID. However, RMS is replacing it with an in-school field trip “Movie Afternoon.” There will be lots of treats and students will get to select a movie and hang out together on Tuesday, June 14. There will be no cost for this event.

* On June Thursday, June 16, from 7:00-8:00 PM, 8th grade students and their families are invited to attend an evening that will honor their time in middle school and promote students to 9th grade. Due to size limitations, students may only bring 1 or 2 family members with them. Doors will open at 6:15. Cake will be served afterwards.

For All Students
* RMS Fun Day will take place on Monday, June 13 at the end of the school day. Popsicles will be passed out to students!

* Student laptops will be turned in on Thursday, June 16. Students will need to bring their laptop, stylus, and charger to school on that day and will turn in their laptops during their English class.

RMS Lost and Found

RMS has many coats, lunchboxes and water bottles left all over school. Students are encouraged to check our lost and found (located in the cafeteria) but also ask parents/guardians to take a peek if your student is missing something. Please note that after June 17, anything left at RMS will be donated.
