St James Works Update August 2023 |
Photos of Gardenvale Church Restoration LINKED HERE The rebuild of St James is now looking very exciting with a completed East Stained Glass Window installed. The walls are taking shape with now 3 layers - the drying process is quite elaborate. The installed side windows are helping to block out some of this cold and wet weather to aid in this process! The replica stone work looks splendid in situ.
Photos of Croft Organ Restoration LINKED HERE The Croft Organ for St James has now been moved from its storage container in Auckland into the South Island Organ Company factory where works of restoration will commence. Campbell Hargreaves - the organ builder - has done extensive work looking at the original casing (which houses another organ) and will begin work on making a replica case in Melbourne after working on the inner parts of the instrument. The organ is in good condition but complex with many parts both of large and small proportion.

The Miracle Club Film - A Great Gathering |
Thankyou to the 23 parishioners and friends, most of whom we clicked in the photo above. We enjoyed ourselves at the palace Brighton bay for a moving film with top actors and actresses. We hope to get together again soon as it seemed like a popular thing to do on this winter day! - Susan and the Fellowship Team

Gangster, gardener, missionary: John Pridmore’s incredible life |
The reminiscences of an ex-London gangster are not what you usually hear in church. With knuckledusters, machetes and drugs once part of his daily existence, John Pridmore has a gripping story to tell, and he is more than happy to share it.
