Pope Francis to Mongolia: we are all ‘God’s nomads’ |
On Monday 4 September, Pope Francis concluded his unprecedented apostolic journey to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, where he encouraged the country’s small Catholic population in their faith. Pope Francis has often been referred to as the ‘pope of the peripheries’, and this visit reaffirms this. The Catholic Church in Mongolia is one of the Church’s smallest flocks: out of a mostly Buddhist population of 3.3 million, Mongolia has roughly 1,450 Catholics.READ THE ARTICLE HERE

Pope Francis reflects on his journey to Mongolia at his General Audience on Wednesday 6 September. The General Audience took place at 9.00 in Saint Peter’s Square. In his address in Italian, the Pope focused on his recent Apostolic Journey in Mongolia, After summarizing his catechesis in various languages, the Holy Father addressed special greetings to the faithful present - including Australians present.
