ONLINE EXPERIENCES HOSTS BRING TO LIFE A GLOBAL CELEBRATION OF PRIDE
At a time when physical connection is exceptionally difficult and in-person events have been cancelled, the LGBTQ+ community and allies around the world are celebrating Pride like never before. Timed to coincide with Pride season, Online Experience hosts on Airbnb are bringing to life the platform’s first virtual celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, history and activism across more than 10 countries. Pride enthusiasts will be able to travel virtually and join Online Experiences led by hosts in Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Germany, Portugal and more from the comfort of their living room.
IGLTA member Stockholm LGBT has launched a new short video, featuring media partners and influencers that had visited Stockholm in the past, asking them what they loved most about the Swedish capital, also known as one of the world’s most ‘Open Cities.' The resounding message was that LGBTQ+ travellers can’t wait to get back to Stockholm. Stockholm LGBT is the city’s rainbow family of hotels, restaurants, attractions and other partners, committed to upholding the city’s reputation as a destination of choice for the LGBTQ+ traveller. GLOBAL PRIDE 2020: THE WORLD'S BIGGEST PRIDE CELEBRATION
Touted as the world’s biggest ever LGBTI+ celebration, Global Pride streamed 24 hours of non-stop content from Pride organisations, activists, civil society groups, politicians and world leaders on Saturday, 27 June. The festivities have ended, but you can still participate by donating to the Global Pride Relief Fund. Your support will assist Pride organizations around the world that have lost important financial resources due to COVID19. You will also be helping to empower LGBTQI+ groups and activists worldwide, especially in the most disadvantaged territories of the world, to encourage the Pride movement to join forces fighting racism and systemic oppression in our societies.
MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATES PRIDE THROUGHOUT THE CARIBBEAN AND LATIN AMERICA
Marriott International has been dedicated to diversity and inclusion since the company was founded in 1927. To celebrate Pride month, Marriott hotels in the Caribbean & Latin America (CALA) took inspiration from the LGBTQ+ Pride flag to create a collection of locally inspired cocktail recipes that together form a brilliant rainbow. The delicious Pride-themed beverages have been crafted by mixologists from 13 hotels in CALA to allow guests to toast and celebrate Pride from the comfort of their homes.
