A shout out to all former students and colleagues of Richard Gill.
(Everyone, spread the word!)
Let's reconnect and get the "Richard Gill" choir back together!
Richard gave many of us transformational experiences in singing. No more so than the undergraduate choir at Sydney Conservatorium during his time there in the mid to late seventies and at Music Camps, amongst others.
Your Voice Can Change a Child’s Life
This is a shout out to all who appreciated Richard Gill and were blessed by his impact through music, to gather as many of us as possible to sing in the Celebration Sing Out! choir this year.
Celebration Sing Out! is a massed schools and community choral and orchestral concert being held for its 33rd year, with the leadership and participation of some by Richard's former colleagues and proteges. The concert raises tens of thousands for Music Therapy at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Flexible time-commitment
All learning and rehearsals can be streamed and downloaded so your only fixed time commitment is to come for the final rehearsal to put it all together for a late afternoon performance on Sunday 26th October at Sydney Town Hall.
It's going to be a great sing, with Zadok the Priest, Polovtsian Dances, two choruses from The Armed Man, and a Crowded House Medley.
The fab Brett Weymark is Patron and Guest Conductor, Mal Hewitt is Music Director, and Warren Fisher is Associate MD.
Whether you’re part of a choir or an individual singer aged 16 to 86+, this is a great opportunity to sing as we remember Richard and use our voices to help kids who are very sick in hospital.
We are really looking forward to reconnecting in the choir and hope you will be able to join us.
