She's a Lamb! is brilliantly written in the first person, so the reader spends over 300 pages in Jessamyn's insufferable, self-centered, increasingly delusional head. Which helped me understand why she is the way she is, but it didn't make me like her.

This novel’s protagonist is unlikable, unreliable, and completely train-wreck captivating. 

The reader spends the entire story in Jessamyn St. Germain’s head, which is full of confidence that she’s destined for greatness as a musical theatre star. 

But when she auditions for The Sound Of Music, instead of landing the lead role (or any role)... she gets hired to babysit the kids playing the von Trapp children.

Jessamyn is convinced that this is a ploy by the director to keep her close, as she's the understudy for the lead role. But as shards of reality begin to seep into her manufactured world, she becomes more and more unhinged. 

Eventually, we find out just how far she’s willing to go to make sure she ends up in centre stage.
