Big things are in motion as we gear up for SERCAL 2026 — and we’re thrilled to invite our restoration community from across the state to Humboldt County for the first time to experience the inspiring work happening there!
Mark your calendars! We're planning at least five field trips (and possibly a workshop) for May 18, followed by two full days of presentations and activities on May 19–20. We’ve secured a beautiful venue set right on the banks of the Eel River — the River Lodge in Fortuna — and lodging and refreshments are just a few steps away.
Our 2026 conference theme is nearly finalized, and it centers around the ideas of Listening, Learning, and Restoring. Conference organizers are collaborating with the local restoration community to shape sessions that reflect the depth and diversity of work being done on the ground.
The Call for Abstracts will go live on October 22 — stay tuned for details!
To be considered as a technical presenter, you’ll need to upload your abstract to our Airtable base by November 24. Our review team will evaluate submissions and notify presenters by mid-December with either an invitation to give a technical talk or to present a poster. The Call for Poster Abstracts will be announced later this month.
