Gracelynn Presentation

Gracelynn (A 6th Grader) created a poster about the MacKenzie Center for her 4H Natural Science project, which she showed at the Dane County Fair. It won grand champion and a judge's choice award. It was chosen to represent the county at the State Fair, where it received Reserve Champion, along with a $20 prize. Gracelynn donated the $20 to the Friends.
Gracelynn did an excellent job of presenting her poster to the board! She explained that she took most of the photos herself and created the text about the MacKenzie Center. Her favorite things about the MacKenzie Center are the picnic area, the wildlife area, and the pond. She and her family also enjoyed attending Maple Fest. She has been visiting MacKenzie since she was nine months old!
Gracelynn loaned her poster to the Friends so that we could display it at the Fall Fundraiser and possibly other events.
Fall Fest

The Friends of MacKenzie are incredibly grateful to all the Volunteers, DNR Educators & Staff along with the volunteers from the Poynette HS Conservation Club for the celebrated  Mackenzie Environmental Center Fall Festival on October 26th.  The team effort created a day of inquiry, learning, leadership and joy to all the attendees and the team. The autumn atmosphere provided laughter, painting necklaces, stream “study”, wood cookie sawing, hikes through the golden forest dappled with sunlight, studying and talking with the indigenous animals of Wisconsin and making memories with family and friends. The delicious aroma of brats, popcorn, baked goods and coffee wafted over the gentle breeze. The experience of a hay wagon ride was a first time wonderment for many. We are sincerely blessed by all the MacKenzie supporters. Come to  experience Mother Nature provides and MacKenzie Invites! Thank you, The Friends of Mackenzie Environmental Center 🎃
