Incredibly proud of our Year 6 children

As we come to the end of SATs week, I would like to say how incredibly proud we are of all our Year 6 children.

Throughout the week, they have shown resilience, maturity, determination and a wonderfully positive attitude. They approached each day with calm focus and gave their very best effort, which is all we could ever ask for.

SATs are only a small part of each child’s journey, but the confidence, perseverance and growth they have demonstrated over the years are far more important measures of their success. Our Year 6 pupils have been excellent ambassadors for the school and should feel extremely proud of themselves.

I would also like to thank our dedicated staff team for their hard work, encouragement and care in preparing and supporting the children, as well as our parents and carers for the reassurance and support you have given at home throughout the year.

Now that SATs tests are complete, we look forward to an exciting final term for Year 6, with many opportunities ahead to celebrate their achievements and create lasting memories before they move on to the next stage of their education.

Well done, Year 6!

May the attendance force be with you!

This half term, we’re launching a fun Star Wars-themed attendance challenge to encourage every child to be in school every day from next Tuesday. Children will collect a daily stamp for each day they attend school. Every child with a full card will receive a prize and be entered into a special draw to win a prize that is truly out of this world! Every day counts – you have to be in it to win it! Let’s work together to build strong attendance habits this term.

Curriculum spotlight: geography

This term pupils are learning about a range of geography topics.

Children in Year 1 are learning about UK seasides, while Year 2 are shifting their attention further afield to focus on Australia. In Year 3, pupils are learning about the counties of the UK, while Year 4 continue to learn about Europe with a particular focus on Italy. Year 5 are studying biomes and climate zones and Year 6 are examining the global impacts of climate change.

Ways to support your child at home with geography:
• Talk about places you visit/have visited, explore maps or discuss the weather
• Watch documentaries/videos together about the world
