The Archdeacon of Dorking, Ven. Martin Breadmore, and Sarah Bolton, Clergy Appointments Officer, visited St Nicolas on 1st September and took us through the 22 steps involved in appointing a new Rector when Alan leaves in January 2027. If all goes well, we can expect a new Rector to join us in September 2027. Everyone is invited to have their say and you can start now. Please fill in a copy of the ‘St Nicolas Vacancy Consultation’ form which can be found in church or online here. A recording can be made available on requst to vacancy@stnicolasbookham.org.uk
New Festival of Creation
This coming Sunday marks the first ‘Festival of Creation in Christ’, a new Anglican celebration focusing on the role of Christ in creation.
Churches are being encouraged to pray for the recent times of extreme weather, particularly praying for farmers and those impacted by the major fires.
A new free booklet ‘Hope for All Creation’ is available online here.
Keeping up to date
Our weekly notice sheet is available online (click here) and in church. The regular excerpt from our 10 o’clock service is available here. Wardens' updates on the Vacancy Process can be found here
And finally…
Holy and eternal God, you are the Maker of heaven and earth, you are the Word through whom all things were made, and you are the Spirit, the giver of life: draw us into the mystery of your love, that with all creation we may proclaim your praise, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Wishing you grace and peace.
