News from Andy's Desk

Dear Travel Partners,

We have some new Cruise Ship Accessibility information in this issue of the newsletter. I am proud to announce that Explora Journeys has graciously provided us with their accessibility information. Our good friend Bill Panoff has made several videos about what Explora Journeys has to offer. Check one of them out here: Explora Journeys Video

With so much positive feedback on last month’s newsletter that we decided to include some of the same information for those who may have missed it. THANK YOU to those of you who reached out last month! If you missed it, check out how a customer of ours is taken up into a train on its accessible lift.

The other big news I want to share is about Skål International.

It is my pleasure to invite you to an upcoming Skål International event in Dania Beach, FL on September 7th. Please feel free to also share the information with others in our industry.

I know that some of you are quite a distance from the Fort Lauderdale area, but this is a unique opportunity to meet the Skål International USA Executive Committee along with the current and future members of the local Fort Lauderdale & the Palm Beaches and Miami Skal clubs all in one place.

If you are not familiar with Skål International, please have a look at the web site link below. You will see that the organization has an international presence with local connections and participation in your area.

http://www.skal.org

I often like to say, “It’s not what you know…It’s not who you know…It’s who knows you.” As a member of Skal, people from around the world will consider you as someone they know and that really makes a difference in both business and personal relationships. Come find out what I mean.

Please see attached more information about the upcoming event.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me as well.

I hope to meet you in person on September 7th.

Keep smilin'

Andrew Garnett, CATA

President/CEO

September is National Service Dog Month

Can a Service Dog go a cruise?

Service Dogs may be allowed on cruise ships. Traveling with a Service Dog may result in certain limiations, such as not being allowed to disembark from a cruise ship in all ports. However, the good news is that "yes" a Service Dog may travel with thier human handler on a cruise with advanced preparation.

Please make sure to check your client's intinerary and with their respective cruise line regarding requirements/regulations.

Beow, please find an article written by Sam Nelson and published ealier this year in Travel & Gear's online publication regarding Traveling with a Service Dog on a Cruise which may be informative, and of interest to you.
