It's a great way to meet like-minded artisan sourdough aficionados and be part of this journey I started back in 2016. And now for this week's Buzz...

Little did we know when we opened for Valentine's Day...

ISN'T SHE LOVELY? THAT'S ALYSSA WITH ONE OF OUR SPECIAL HEART-TOP PETITE ARTISAN SOURDOUGH LOAVES.

So I decided kinda last minute to open our doors on Wednesday. After all, it was Valentine's Day and you might have needed the perfect sharable and delicious gift for the Valentine in your world. But before I could even promote that we were open yesterday, people were coming by an hour before opening at noon! By 3pm we sold nearly all of the Country Loaves we baked for Thursday and by 5pm were had sold them all! Wow...

The below photo was taken around 3pm. The 8 loaves on the upper left rack were already pre-orderd (7 of them got shipped out to Arizona and Illinois yesterday). The 7 remaining light loaves were all gone soon after. The dark loaves are our Cinnamon Raisin Maple Pecan sourdough breads in full and petite sizes. We'll be baking 80 more Country Loaves today and more on Friday and Saturday so there should be bread available.

Kinda Cool...

For Valentine's Week I thought I'd share a song I wrote for an amazing artist, Amy. While working on a mix playback for Amy's debut album, "Vocalessence by Amy," Amy remarked, "That's kinda cool." For some reason, the way she said that phrase hit me like I'd never heard it before. I looked at her and replied, "That's a song!" and proceeded to write "Kinda Cool" that night. I played the demo of it for her next time we had a recording session and she was blown away. Then I hired my go-to jazz trio studio musicians Jeff Colella on piano, Randy Landas on bass and Rod Harbour on drums to play the arrangement. Amy sang live in the vocal booth and take 5 was magic! I added strings and mixed the song and you can hear it here. I entered Kinda Cool into the Great American Song Contest and was awarded 1st Place in the Adult Contemporary category!

If you'd like to read the improbable backstory of how I came to meet Amy and end up producing a most amazing album, visit the Vocalessence by Amy website and then press to play...
