Effective immediately, the Transfer Station will no longer accept brush. The cost of disposal is more than 4x what the Town has been charging. Rather than quadrupling the price of dumping brush, the Town has decided to discontinue the collection of brush at the Transfer Station.
Effective July 1, the price of dump stickers will increase to $4. The increase is to cover the higher costs in the Town's new contract for hauling household trash. PLEASE DO NOT "STOCK UP" ON DUMP STICKERS BETWEEN NOW AND JULY 1. On July 1, all bagged trash will be $4, and you will have to either trade in your blue stickers at the Town Office for the new yellow stickers at $1 each, or pay the difference with a check at the Transfer Station. Please contact James Kossuth at administrator@northportmaine.org or 338-3819x6 with any questions.

Climate Action Grant Award |
The Town was recently awarded a $75,000 grant from the Governor's Office for Policy Innovation and the Future to fund a shoreline stabilization project in Bayview Park. Two years ago, the Town won a $50,000 grant to pay for surveys and stabilization design for four trouble spots on Town and Village property along the shore. One of those areas, near 580 Shore Road, was stabilized in May 2024. A second spot, at Kelly Cove, was awarded $133,000 from the state last fall, and the Town hopes to complete that work this summer. Bayview Park is the third area to be addressed, and the $75,000 grant should cover much of the cost of that project.
