805 volunteers donated 3,431 service hours through Black Warrior Riverkeeper in 2024. Our 40 cleanups in 2024 removed 26,553 pounds of litter from the watershed!

50 Years of the

Sipsey Wilderness

On January 5, 1975, the Sipsey Wilderness was designated a federally protected wilderness area. The Sipsey Fork is federally designated as Alabama’s only Wild & Scenic River.
