There's some deep and hands-on science happening at the Middle School. From our new STEM program to our traditional science classes, students are learning important concepts and how to think critically.
TOP LEFT 8th Grade students in Mr. Korol and Ms. Shawver's classes had to build a contraption that would stop a Grade A egg from breaking after a 17-foot fall.
The egg didn't just have to survive to win, though. The apparatus had to save the egg AND be made from the lightest possible material.
These two future
engineers used sponges to cradle the egg and helium balloons to slow the fall. While their device wasn't the lightest, it was the lightest that kept the egg safe.

BOTTOM 8th graders learned to use Bunsen burners for the first time.
