If, like everyone else, you've been spooked in the last few years by just how much tracking happens online then you might not want to exacerbate the problem by installing loads of third-party trackers on your website (e.g. Google Analytics).
Fathom is a privacy focused website analytics alternative that has a great UI and is built by some great people. I've been using it for all of my sites for the last few years and always been impressed with how easy it is to use. It doesn't come with lots of advanced reporting features but that's kind of the point.
