The One Where I Tell You We've Reset the Clock On Rocky's Seizures 😥
Well, we've reset the clock on Rocky's seizures after almost 4 months seizure free, and despite being sad for Rocky, I'm still happy with the increased time between seizures. Before these last few months, Rocky had been having seizures every two weeks on average. I'm sure you can agree, 113 days is a VAST improvement over 14 days. That being said, I've neglected to write anything new for this email, because I procrastinated too long and now I have nothing in my head except the typical post-seizure anxiety. So instead of the pithy story I was going to tell you about our lack of summer vacation plans, I'll take this opportunity to remind you about my book tracking journals.
If you didn't already know, I sell book journals on Amazon. They started as a side project when my dog had a cluster of seizures and I needed to keep him company on the floor for the following week while the strength returned to his back legs. Now I use the sales proceeds to help fund his medication and vet visits. Thanks to some extra work by one of the techs at our Vet's office, Rocky's medication is a little cheaper, but it's still a couple hundred dollars a month, which is ridiculous. But he's family, so there's not much we can do about it, you know?
Need a gift for a book lover? Available with a variety of covers and entry options, these reading journals are perfect. Check out a few ofthe options atchantalroome.com/journals.I recently ordered one of the hardcover editions for myself, and let me tell you, it looks pretty awesome. For those of you who live in the US, they are a great option.
Which isn't to say that the paperback versions aren't equally cool, especially for my fellow Canadians. Sadly, Amazon doesn't offer printing of the hardcover versions in Canada, so they are pretty expensive to get here. It cost me over $35 to get the hardcover version after the exchange rate and shipping costs. I use a paperback version myself (when I remember to add to it).
So, if you're in the market for a paper tracking system for all your favorite reads, I'd be thrilled if you'd take a look at mine.
ARC team sign ups are open again and you're going to want to get in on this. My next release is coming up, and I'm expecting that the ARC will be ready for delivery in August. Fill out the form to join my ARC team and I'll add you to the list. 📚📖

Whispers on the Water
Surf Shack Series Book 1
Steamy failed one night stand romantic comedy
Life was simple: work, surf, tweak the old pinball machine at the bar, rinse off and repeat. Easy, uncomplicated, just how I like it. Then came Greg. One dance with him at the bar my best friend dragged me to, and bam—my chill, solitary world flipped like a dinghy on rough seas. Greg's got the kind of charm that should come with a warning label and surfing skills that could make Poseidon jealous. With his smile that outshines the Costa Rican sun, and his ridiculous fear of bees, Greg wasn’t what I expected. It was meant to be just one magical, toe-curling night, but then came the surf lessons, the late-night talks, and the unexpected thrill of falling for him. But just as things heat up, I realize Greg's got secrets. Big, splashy secrets. They’re swirling around him like a mysterious ocean whirlpool. And me? I’ve got my own—a shadow from my past that’s more menacing than a shark at sundown. So, here's the million-dollar question: When your new love affair feels like the perfect wave, do you ride it out, or do you bail before you wipe out? Because in this game of running from everything I should be trying to forget, it's not just about staying afloat—it's about not letting the past pull you under.

I’m Alexis Rhodes, but you can call me Jazminne Starr, indie author, and this is my story. I moved to Seattle for gray skies, rainy days, and hopeful for inspiration. Suffering from writer’s block, a broken heart, and a looming deadline, I was desperate. I got the bright idea to write a sports romance. A hockey romance. Easy, right?
Little did I know my desperate attempt for my next bestseller would lead me to a hockey game that would change my life forever. A change that came in the form of the superstar Captain and Center of the Seattle Vipers Hockey team, Torrance “Tor” Bailey.
With Tors help as my advisor in all things hockey, I completely immersed myself in pucks, sticks, ice, and without realizing it, him. What started out as a mission to write my next book turned into so much more. My story, with all its ups and downs, became our story.
I took our story, shared it with the world and lost everything.
This is a hockey romance. But it was never about the game. We were playing for keeps and didn’t see it coming until it was too late. But it’s never too late for a happily ever after. I write about them all the time. Surely I can turn my words into reality. Because I would never forgive myself if he didn’t forgive me.
For Pucking Keeps is a standalone hockey romance, book one of The Seattle Vipers series.
She might be ready to nest. He's looking to spread his wings. Can these two opposites find a way to flock together?
Nix - like Cher or Madonna just not as famous or rich - has nested in Tuft Swallow for the spring. Traveling the country for the last decade with nothing but her beat-up pick-up truck, a well-loved travel trailer, and a snarky, no nonsense attitude, has suited her free-bird soul just fine.
Until a scared cat, a campground in need, and a sexy, broody bookseller capture her attention in ways she wasn't prepared for.
Thayer Longspur, former Architect Under 30 to Watch, has given up his blueprints to run The Plot Chickens, a used book in tiny Tuft Swallow. Thayer is stuck between the expectations of the architectural world and his family. He is trying to decide if a bird in hand (the bookstore) is better than two in the bush (finishing his Masters Degree) when an impish dervish whirls into his store and life. Every time he turns around, Nix is there pecking at his grumpiness and resolve to leave.
While these two are deciding whether to nest for good or fly the coop, they can't help but get caught up in town politics, cornhole, an out of control campfire, and each other. Nothing wrong with two consenting adults enjoying each other, right?
One of them stays but wants to go; the other wants to stay but has a wandering soul. Can these two work around their wanderlust to find common ground? If any place can entice them to do so, charming, bird-obsessed Tuft Swallow is it.
This is a steamy romantic comedy full of bird puns, familiar characters from the Tuft Swallow series, and witty banter.
