The Town found out on March 14 that we would not be receiving $2.35 million in federal funds for the Town Office / Community Center project because Congress did not pass a budget for this year.
Sen. King and Sen. Collins decided to accept applications for congressional funding again, and this week the Town submitted an updated application for $5.2 million, which reflects the increased costs of construction in the past year. The Town also submitted an application for a $500,000 grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission.
The Town is hosting an informational session about the project at the Drinkwater School (56 Bayside Road) on Wednesday, April 30, at 6pm. Please make the time to attend and get up to speed on the status of the project ahead of the June 16 Town Meeting vote about moving forward with the project.
Updated site plans, floor plans, and exterior elevations are available on the website and an 11"x17" paper copy is available at the Town Office. Please contact James Kossuth at administrator@northportmaine.org or 338-3819x6 with any questions.
