Happy December!
We hope you had a great November. Read on below to see what's in store for the rest of the year and early 2022! EA Coworking Space Interest SurveyEA NYC is in the very initial stages of exploring the possibility of setting up a coworking space for people focused on EA-aligned work. We'd like to get a sense of interest as we explore methods to set this up. At this time, this is very early-stage and may not come to fruition or may be limited in size, meaning we don't want to get anyone's hopes up at this juncture. If you are potentially interested in utilizing an EA coworking space, please fill out this survey by December 15.

Reading Group: Poor Economics |
This month, we'll be discussing Poor Economics (2011) by Nobel Prize winners Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo! In Poor Economics: A Radical Rethinking of the Way to Fight Global Poverty, the two Economics professors and co-founders of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), discuss their lessons from 15 years of working on global poverty. They take an evidence-based approach, drawing on the hundreds of RCTs they've conducted, to understanding what traps people in extreme poverty, and some of the solutions that can improve the situation. Because our usual date would have conflicted with the holidays, we will be discussing on Monday, December 6 instead. Make sure to join the #reading-group channel on the EA NYC Slack ( join here) to discuss throughout the month. Stick around since that's where we decide on the books for future months!

We hope you have a wonderful December!
Cheers, Arushi & Rocky
