Welcome to the November bulletin.

The Club has begun the countdown to Christmas, with the lists for the Christmas Draw, the Christmas Meat Raffle and the senior citizens Christmas lunch posted on the noticeboard. The draw for the meat raffle will be on Friday 19th December and the prize draw will be held on Saturday 20th December.

We have started a search for someone to take over as Club Treasurer as Alan Davey has stated his intention to stand down from the role after many years of service. If you know of anyone with suitable financial experience who would be interested in taking on this role, please send a message to the Club's email address info@thebroadwayclub.co.uk or speak to one of the Committee.

A word from our Chairman

Welcome to the November newsletter. We've had a busy and successful October which saw a very noisy but brilliant band and a full house for our bingo, which saw Steve Dunn win an extra £230 on the snowball.

I would like to remind members that our annual Christmas draw sheets are on the board in the foyer with £500 cash top prize in the main draw. The club will be putting in a additional £300 for the meat raffle so please start investing early.

At the end of this month we hope to have our inaugural darts Halve-It competition, which is great fun and ability can count for nothing, so please put your names down on the list which can also be found in the foyer.

Join us on Saturday 15th November for the return of Robbie Culley

Hailing from Reading, Robbie had a musical childhood – performing in pantomimes and studying at musical theatre college. When the pandemic paused his performance plans, he found work as a scaffolder, which led to him posting singing videos on TikTok.

Tens of thousands of video views later, he now busks around the Berkshire area and beyond. Now he’s back at the Broadway for his second performance of the year. Not to be missed.

Entry fee for guests will be £3, payable on the door.

National race nights return

Back at the Broadway on Saturday 22nd November, we have another charity race night organised by National Race Nights. These events are always extremely popular, so make sure you get down to the club early to secure your seat. Once again, this evening promises to be tremendous fun.

Saturday 29th November

"Halve It" is a fun, popular darts game for all abilities where competitors try to hit specific targets on a standard dart board. Any number of players can take part and the game can vary in length depending on the number of targets selected.

Entry is £3 which covers three rounds and makes up the entirety of the prize pot. A running total will be kept across the three rounds and the top-placed players will make it into the final and compete for cash prizes.

Meat raffle

Don't forget about our monthly meat raffle, which takes place on the last Friday of every month. There are ten individual prizes to be won, and the draw takes place this month on November 28th. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the bar. Good luck!

Club Competitions

The Monday night Blackwater & District winter darts league is now under way. You can find the fixtures and results at the Blackwater & District website and can also be found on the noticeboard.

The Club now has a Cribbage team and are now playing every Wednesday in the Three Counties Club Crib League. Nevertheless, the team would ideally like at least two more players, so if you are an experienced player, or are keen to learn, please get in touch by sending an email to info@thebroadwayclub.co.uk.

The Club's snooker team is currently playing in the Farnham & District Billiards and Snooker League every Wednesday. You can find the fixtures and track their progress on the FDBSL website.

Other news

There will be a private party for Sue Larkin on Saturday 1st November with a live band playing at the Club. Nevertheless, the Club remains available for all members as usual.
