Welcome!
So glad you're here! My goal for this newsletter is to bring us together through music, movement, and community. No matter your experience level, you're in the right place. Let's keep those Boots A Movin'!
Hello dancers,
Welcome to February—a month that reminds us of love, connection, and the people who leave a lasting imprint on our hearts. 💕 I’m so grateful to be stepping into this month with such a supportive and beautiful dance community
Before anything else, I want to say thank you—and also I’m sorry—to my students. Thank you for your patience, kindness, and understanding as I’ve missed a few classes lately. I’ve been fighting off a bug, and on top of that, as some of you know, I’ve been dealing with ongoing foot pain for several months. Last Tuesday, I received cortisone shots in the second ball joint, and let’s just say… my feet are not very happy with me right now. 😅
Your grace during this time has meant more to me than you know, and I truly appreciate each of you. .
Our Country Swing classes every other Thursday have been absolutely amazing. Watching the room fill, seeing dancers at all levels learning together, and feeling the joy in the music has been truly special. As our classes continue to grow, thank you for your patience as we make a few adjustments to better support everyone.
We’ve realized that one hour simply isn’t enough time when so many people are learning and growing at once. To create a more comfortable and meaningful experience, we’re making a small schedule change. Instead of starting with a line dance, we will now begin with swing:
6:00–6:30 PM: Absolute Beginner Swing (foundations & basics)
6:30–8:00 PM: Swing Move of the Week, with guided practice time and music
This gives beginners space to build confidence while allowing everyone the time they deserve to truly connect with the dance.
I also want to share something very close to my heart. Recently, I was recognized for a line dance I choreographed and dedicated to Dwight. Creating that dance was an act of love, remembrance, and gratitude—and seeing it acknowledged has been deeply emotional and humbling.
Because of that recognition, I’ve been invited to perform and compete at a dance competition in South Bend, Indiana at the end of August. This opportunity means more to me than I can put into words.
In honor of February and Valentine’s Day, I will be teaching Dwight’s dance this month. I look forward to sharing not just the steps, but the heart, meaning, and love behind it with all of you.
Thank you for dancing with intention, for supporting one another, and for being part of this journey with me. This community continues to remind me that dance is about so much more than movement—it’s about connection, memory, and love.
Keep those boots a movin’! ❤️
