Hello Reverbia!
We will soon be together as one BIG happy family! Here is the latest critical info to go over as you prepare for dusty shenanigans:
ARRIVAL Reverbia's address on Playa is 8:15 and Esplanade. New burners can ask the volunteers at the gate how to get to our address. Do not drive on Esplanade. Reverbia stretches all the way from Esplanade to "A" Street; please enter camp from "A" Street. Placement Team will be in our Embassy Teahouse structure on A Street, ready to welcome you! Hopefully we will have a Reverbia sign up to make it clear you're at the right place.
Remember that Placement Team can only place you starting at 8am in the morning and through to midnight. if you arrive at Burning Man between midnight and 8am, do not come to camp! If for some reason you do arrive at camp during those off hours, just stay in your car and wait until 8am for the Placement Team to get you sorted.
Please DO NOT leave your car on Reverbia property and go watch the sunrise or other such galavanting.
You cannot set up your tent or rv or van etc without first checking in with Placement. They expertly tetris everybody in and follow a special detailed plan that Doug, Randy, and Zook have worked on for weeks... there is no room for rogue self-placement. Every inch counts in the shade structures, so if they ask you to move your tent 6 inches over, please don't give them a hard time, just do it. Obey the Tetris Masters! Tent spots are first-come-first-served... we do not allow folks to reserve spots for their friends who have not arrived. If you want to guarantee a spot next to a friend, you must arrive together. If you are staying in an oversize tent, large shiftpod, yurt, van, trailer, or rv, you will have a pre-designated spot on the layout. Those who ordered 15 amp power for their tents, will be placed with access to your plugin in mind.
Summary of Reverbia Arrival and Placement Procedure:- Check in with us on A street.
- Welcome! After we verify you have paid and signed up for volunteer shifts, we will show you where you can set up.
- Set up your tent/yurt/shiftpod, or park your RV in your spot.
- Return to placement to have them come approve your setup.
- Stake down and add the tent tags we give you (if tenting).
- Don’t leave yet! Time to park your vehicle with a dash board tag including your name and exodus time.
- Read, absorb, and sign the LNT Promise Form, receive your FOB for water/food access.
- Congrats, you're done!
- Be wild and freeeeeeee
POWERIf you ordered a power hookup (either 15amp or 30amp) you must bring your own cord.
Your basic camp fee includes access to communal power:
- only small things, like charging cell phones, batteries, LED lights for your tent, a small fan in your tent. Keep this to less than 100W total per tent.
- This DOES NOT include any kind of AC unit, heater, fridge, or a swamp cooler. These draw way too much power for the communal power grid.
- We'll be providing communal power bars at each end of all the quonsets and the reverbaminiums, and a charging station in our communal lounge.
- If you want a power outlet closer to your tent, you must bring your own extension cord AND a small power bar. We recommend 25' (but more is better), light duty is ok for this.
15A Power Plan:- This will get you a dedicated 15A 110v (~1500W MAX) circuit to power a van/small camper/tent/shiftpod etc. with a smaller AC unit, heater, fridge or swamp cooler.
- You MUST bring an extension cord of 100 feet minimum, and at least >>>12<<< gauge. The size matters here. Light duty extension cords will have too much voltage drop and may damage your gear or melt in the day time heat.
30A Power Plan:- This will get you a dedicated 30A 110v (~3000W MAX) circuit to power a typical RV/camper with an AC unit, fridge, freezer, microwave, ect..
- You MUST bring a cord of 100 feet minimum (two 50 footers is ok), and at least >>>10<<< gauge. The size matters here. Light duty extension cords will have too much voltage drop and may damage your gear or melt in the day time heat.
- It MUST be a proper RV extension cord with TT-30 connections. We can't allow adapters or normal extension cords plugging into a 30A outlet (fire hazard!!!).
FOODThe first meal coming out of the kitchen is dinner on Sunday, Aug 25th. If you are arriving on Playa Saturday early arrival via Burner Bus, or as soon as the gates open on Saturday midnight, please be stocked to feed yourself until Sunday dinner. And, if you can, please help Build Team with whatever is needed! But Sunday breakfast and lunch will be served for official members of the Build Team only. Drinking water will be available for all, no matter when you arrive, but it is always good to arrive with some backup in case of emergencies.
The
last meal served from the kitchen is Sunday, Sept 1st dinner. There
might be a cold breakfast on Monday Sept 2nd, but no guarantees. Plan accordingly if you are leaving later in the day on Monday. The exception to this is Exit Team; if you are on Exit Team, there will be meals provided for you through Tuesday Sept 3rd late afternoon.
MEETING On Monday, Aug 26th at 6pm we will have our all camp orientation / icebreaker / town hall! Please make every effort to arrive on Playa in time for this meeting. It will set you up for winning the whole rest of the week. And besides being information packed, it will also be really fun!🙂
