About Labor Day: We hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful late-summer weather on Labor Day.
Labor Day is the national holiday that celebrates the social and economic achievements of American workers and their labor unions. The real purpose of the holiday is to honor workers' achievements and to recognize their vital contributions to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of all Americans. Organized labor has changed our country for the better. The 40-hour work week. The weekend itself. Lifesaving safety standards. Overtime pay. A minimum wage. Social Security. And more.
Thank you, American workers and unions. We need and appreciate you.

Quote: “With all their faults, trade unions have done more for humanity than any other organization of men that ever existed. They have done more for decency, for honesty, for education, for the betterment of the race, for the developing of character in men (and women) than any other association.” – Clarence Darrow

Sign Petition: Gov. Healey Should Not Let Mass. Participate in Trump's Federal School Voucher Program (from The Progressive Dems of Mass. Leadership Team)
Governor Healey should decline to participate in the federal school voucher program. The Governor should NOT opt us into this federal voucher scheme (“tax credit scholarship”). This is part of the Trump regime's attempt to dismantle the federal Dept. of Education and slash federal funding for public education - hurting public schools and students across our communities.

Sign Petition: Hold Big Tech Accountable, by Free Speech for People
Congressman Jim McGovern just introduced the Big Tech Accountability Act to protect online privacy and personal freedom and to prevent the algorithm-boosted spread of disinformation and violence.
Big Tech companies, such as Meta, OpenAI, Google, and Amazon, now control the internet, the main medium of modern communication and commerce. They are creating and selling databases of Americans' personal information and amplifying dangerous disinformation and violence. This is a grave threat to our democracy and people. And our elected officials haven't taken any meaningful action.
Free Speech For People is demanding action and has crafted model federal legislation, the Big Tech Accountability Act, to hold social media companies accountable, to protect internet users, voters, and us from amplification of disinformation and violence, and to protect online personal privacy against exploitation. We must ensure that Americans control their own personal data and that social media companies are held accountable. _____________

Write to Help Massachusetts Mental Health C.A.R.E.
This is a simple, high-impact push for Massachusetts to finally join the PSYPACT compact - so our friends and family can keep their therapists when they cross a state line for school, work, military duty, or elder-care.
Currently, a Massachusetts-licensed therapist is not legally permitted to treat a patient who is out of state unless that therapist holds a valid license or legal authorization in that state. If they do treat an out-of-state patient, they risk losing their license and livelihood.
There is a solution - the PSYPACT compact. Mass. is the last New England state not participating. Bills supporting this have strong bipartisan support and require little funding. They are simply stuck in the Ways & Means Committees.
Our information resources and suggested actions: Actions: Contact your elected officials by email, letter, postcard, or phone, with included scripts for each Fact Sheet: For a deep dive, including the committee members in the Mass. House and Senate Flyer: Print and post - the QR links back to the Actions document. Human impact: Examples of the human cost of our current law.

Write Public Comment: Stand For Campus Freedom
Act now until September 21 (the deadline for public comment). The Stand for Campus Freedom community has been tracking the Trump regime's plan to weaponize the education accreditation process to control colleges and universities. The Education Dept. released its far-reaching accreditation proposal to make unprecedented changes to rules governing accreditation of colleges and universities, potentially starting next year. See this July 2026 Recording, “Accreditation and Political Control of Higher Education,” for info. Stand for Campus Freedom is sounding the alarm. These dangerous proposed rules would give the federal government sweeping new power to control the independence and core functions of colleges and universities, affecting academic freedom and campus policies and governance that shape the work of faculty, staff, students, and institutional leaders. Submit a Public Comment Here by Sept. 21 _____________
