Community members who use the Rec Center seasonally or year round have a strong connection to the mission and continued success of the Rec Center. Invested members means we have the BEST volunteers.
The Bayfield Rec Center runs better because of the dedicated volunteers who share a little bit of their time each year.
Garden Volunteers
Dee and Jen have put in a lot of time and energy to the planning, planting, weeding, and putting the beds to rest for winter. Stop and smell the flowers next time you come in.
Point to La Pointe Volunteers
Over 200 P2LP volunteers on land, kayaks, and boats contribute to the success of the fundraising event. Swimmers say that our volunteers are the most helpful and knowledgeable and that new people try the sport of open water swimming because our safety crew is top notch.
Apple Fest Deep Clean Volunteers
Every year we close the week before Apple Fest to complete larger maintenance projects.
In recent years volunteers have power washed the flooring in the fitness rooms, painted, and deep cleaned the locker rooms.
From September 29th to October 5th we will be closed for our annual Apple Fest Deep Clean. And we could use your help!
Volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday. Shifts are 9am-12pm and 12pm-4pm. Lunch will be served from 12pm-1pm daily. We'd love to have you join us. Sign up for a shift or two by stopping at the front desk to help us complete a few big projects!

September Chip Up at the
Chequamegon Food Co-op
Shop at the food co-op in September and be sure to let your cashier know that you'd like to "Chip Up" for the Bay Area Swim Team.
Funds will go toward assistance for kids to participate on the swim team. Approximately one-third of youth require funding to participate in the traveling team.
P2LP 2026
The 2026 Point to La Pointe sold out in a record breaking 8 minutes last week! With over 2000 people interested in signing up we knew it was going to sell out quickly.
Sponsorship opportunities are open. This is a great way to connect to our 650 enthusiastic swimmers and their supporters.
Thank you for coming out to celebrate solar! Our panels are fully operational and capturing energy to power our building.
