Congratulations! Ballantyne Families Helping Neighbors In Need began 3 years ago today! On that day - March 16, 2020, we realized that we had a need to feed families and a community who was willing to give and support!
It started with a need to feed students who wouldn’t get breakfast and lunch at school because of schools shutting down due to Coronavirus. In less than 24 hours, people in our community rallied together to collect over 350 bags of food for over 100 families in need at Community House Middle School.
I am humbled that over the course of 3 years more than 800 people have joined the effort to give support, love, food and hope to our neighbors in need. We have served 7,000+ individuals, given $230,000+ in grocery gift cards, 2,000+ bags of food and 1,000+ encouraging notes. We also are now able to serve families weekly through a food pantry at Community House Middle School!
It is truly incredible! YOU have made such a positive impact in our community!
Thank you for stepping up and saying YES to helping our neighbors in need! You have opened people’s eyes to realize that there are people in Ballantyne who need help, you continue to inspire others to help and you have provided nourishment and hope to families throughout our community.
I am so proud to be a part of this community! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking action to make a positive difference in our community!
With love and gratitude, Heather McAfee & BFHNIN Board Members
