|Hello Grizzlies! The RMS community celebrated the last week of school just a few days ago and what a year it has been! This is the last edition of Bear Tracks for the 2020-2021 school year. We will resume publication of Bear Tracks in August 2021. Please keep an eye out over the summer for email communications about PTSA and school start-up information. You can also visit rmsptsa.org for information about our organization and events for the next school year. For families, friends, students and staff members that are leaving RMS, we are sad to say goodbye but wish you the very best in your new schools! Congratulations to all the RMS 8th Graders who are moving on to high school! For incoming Grizzlies, we look forward to getting to know you next year!To all the RMS Staff this year, thank you to a very special group of dedicated educators and staff members who supported our students through a very tough year by managing remote and in-school learning. We sincerely appreciate you and your efforts! A very special thank you goes to those on the RMS PTSA Board, Committee Chairs, and volunteers who do amazing work. We are a stronger and better community because of the time and support you give. In a year like no other, parents stepped up to continue RMS PTSA's mission to support, engage, and advocate for our students, staff, and community. Thank you to our Leadership Team and Committee Chairs, and volunteers!
And finally, we thank our readership! We hope you have considered Bear Tracks to be a valuable part of the way you receive school information, especially through this turbulent and sometimes confusing school year.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please send your thoughts to the editor at [email protected]. Have a safe and wonderful summer!

How Will You Change The World?
|Summer is a great time to do some art! Next year's Reflections Art Contest will have the theme: "I Will Change the World By..." Remind your student how they could imagine answering this question through, visual arts, music, literature, dance, film, or photography.RMS Students Need You!As school starts, many students will be looking for the opportunity to express their artistic creativity. The Reflections Program, a National PTA arts competition, is a great way to give students of all ages and abilities that chance. However, RMS PTSA does not have a chairperson to head up the program next school year. If you are passionate about art, or have a student that wants to participate, or just want to help out, contact [email protected] to volunteer for the position or to get more information. This position can be shared by more than one person!

Honoring the Juneteenth Holiday
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the US by recognizing June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally freed. The City officially recognized Juneteenth by proclamation of the Mayor and was a sponsor of the “Eastside Honoring Juneteenth” event in Downtown Park on Saturday, June 19.Parking Limit on Redmond StreetsDid you know there is a 24-hour parking limit for all city streets in Redmond? Unless specific parking times are already noted, such as in Downtown Redmond, the 24-hour parking regulation applies to all city streets, including those in residential areas. Please Don’t Feed the DucksFeeding wild ducks may seem helpful, but it can be harmful to the animals and their habitat. Providing an unnatural food supply such as bread and even birdseed can make the animals sick, create overcrowding of habitats, and increase aggression towards other birds and humans as they compete for access to the food.Redmond Pool Temporarily ClosedThe Redmond Pool will be closed from approximately June 21 - July 12 to complete warranty work on the pool deck. The City discovered issues with the flooring on the deck which is causing the floor to be slippery for pool users.
