🚂 Lessons in Leadership and Social Good: The Jagriti Yatra |
In November, we were honoured to host the Jagriti Yatra at its first stop on the tour for the seventh time, continuing a cherished tradition that brings inspiring young changemakers from across India to our campus. 🌟 The visitors explored our school grounds, met with students and staff, and experienced firsthand the vibrant learning environment that defines KSV. 🎓
The day was filled with music, movement, and meaningful conversations. 🎶💃 Our talented students presented captivating dance and vocal performances, led by our vocal teacher, Sukanya Pattar, and our dance teacher, Kaveri Katagi. Their efforts showcase our students' talents and dedication, inspiring pride in our community. ❤️ Later, the Yatris gathered for a fireside chat with our Director, Adam Woodward, who spoke about KSV's mission, our community's journey, and the power of education and the arts to transform lives. ✨ We are delighted to see KSV alum Anjali Marihal among the Yatris this year!
It was a day of mutual inspiration as our students shone on stage, and our guests left with renewed enthusiasm for creating positive change in their own communities. 🌍 We look forward to welcoming the Jagriti Yatra again and continuing this wonderful exchange of ideas, culture, and hope, strengthening our shared commitment to growth and community impact. 🤝🌱

🏅 United Under One House: KSV House Competitions
|
In December, KSV hosted its annual team house performing arts competition! 🎭 Each year, students are divided into houses based on six Gharanas of Hindustani vocal music. The performing arts competition marks a significant opportunity for each house to win points. 🏆 Our competitions were held over two days and offered students the chance to compete in instrumental, vocal, drama, and dance performances across two age groups. 🎶👯♂️ Our music staff graded them across a variety of criteria, including technical difficulty and creativity. These performances celebrated the skills, rigour, and collaboration our students passionately showcase. 🌟
On January 9th, KSV hosted our annual House Olympic Games! 🏅 This volunteer-led day was filled with fun games, friendly competition, and high-energy enthusiasm from all 6 of our teams! 🙌 We want to thank all of our volunteers and staff for making this day possible, especially our Volunteer Coordinator, Tara Fortier. At the end of a fun-filled day, 3 teams emerged victorious, and we crowned our winners! 🎉
🥇 Patiala 🥈 Gwalior 🥉 Rampur

📚 Where History Comes Alive: KSV Students Explore Badami
|
On January 3rd, our 6-9th Standard students visited Badami and the surrounding region to bridge classroom learning with real-world application! 🏞️✨ Students used this opportunity to understand the region's rich cultural heritage and to witness centuries of art and architecture firsthand, bringing their history lessons to life. 📚🏛️ Beyond academics, the trip encouraged curiosity, teamwork, independence, and a deeper connection with India's rich cultural and religious heritage. 🤝🌍 The shared joy of exploring a new space as a community, and all the learning and joy that come with it, is a highlight of KSV's holistic education. 🎉👩🏫 It is amazing to see experience become knowledge in real time. 🌟📖

🎵 A Morning of Music – Powered by EdelGive
|
Thanks to the generous support 🙏 of the EdelGive Foundation, our quarterly music programmes continue to be defining moments of the year 🎵. At the end of December, EdelGive hosted a massive music program at KSV, celebrating our students and the Dharwad community 🎶. We had the honour of hosting retired Indian Air Force Shri Rudresh Bhajantri on the Shehnai 🎺, accompanied by Shri Prashanth Harogeri on the tabla 🥁, for a beautiful hour-long performance. Our vocal 🎤, tabla, and violin 🎻 students also delighted audiences with wonderful performances. What an incredible way to mark the end of 2025! 🎉
Our students are not only mastering the technical skills required for Hindustani music, but are also learning how to build and sustain a community through music. This creates a wonderful campus environment 🌼, where music is a bridge language not only between our students, but also with the larger Dharwad community! 🌍🎶

☀️ Creating the Future of Hindustani Music - Powered by EdelGive |
The support of the EdelGive Foundation has also brought music professionals from across India to KSV's campus to help teach and train our students 🎶. In December, we hosted a 2-day tabla workshop with Pandit Rupak Bhattacharjee 🥁. The workshop gave our students the opportunity to perform and learn from one of the greats 🎤. KSV also hosted a 2-day vocal workshop with Pandit Kumar Mardur 🎼.
