Hello Neighbors,
Ballantyne Families Helping Neighbors in Need is starting this upcoming school year with a strong foundation and renewed focus. Thanks to your generosity and support over the past five years, last year was our most impactful yet.
With uncertain times ahead, we are preparing to serve more families than ever through weekly food pantry shops and seasonal gift card distribution events. And this year I am happy to share that we are adding hygiene products to the pantry! These items are not covered by SNAP benefits and can therefore be unaffordable for many families.
One thing we have learned here in Ballantyne is that families in need in an affluent community are sometimes hidden from view. We know that reaching these families will help improve students’ overall well-being and academic performance. To do that takes a village – we rely on school staff, donors, partners, and volunteers.
