Mid week service Wednesday 9 July - 1pm
David Jackman will continue a series of mid-week services. He will be leading a service of silent meditation for 20 minutes, with scripture readings from the Mass of the day

Mary's meals is a charity that we support, especially during May. It costs £19.15 to feed a child for a whole school year.

Thank you to all who have contributed - we have raised £95 so far.

A reminder that the Sacrament of reconciliation is available at church: In our tradition there are no 'confession boxes', but more of a 'spiritual spring cleaning' rather than a session with the Grand Inquisitor. We confess our sins, quietly, in the presence of a priest, and receive the assurance of pardon & the grace of absolution.

Also, a reminder for those who are interested in preparation for confirmation, as the next step in their journey of faith.

For both of these sacraments, please speak to Fr Admos or Wayne.

Walsingham pilgrimage

The Walsingham pilgrimage, is taking place from Monday 22 to Friday 26 September.

Accommodation has now been booked at Elmham House in Walsingham, and our friends from Oughtrington have booked our transport. Deposits of £20 per person are now due.

In total there are 25 going: 9 from St Chrysostoms, 6 from Holy Cross and 10 from St Peter's.

Sunday 6 July - 3pm - Manchester Cathedral
The Bishop of Bolton will licence 6 new readers, including Wayne from our own congregation. We are all invited along, as a celebration of all that is St Chrysostoms.

Everyone is welcome to the cathedral to support Wayne, who is being licenced this weekend as Reader. A group will be going from church, do come along and join us.

PCC meeting

There will be a meeting of the St Chrysostoms PCC on Sunday 16th July in church after Mass.

It’s with great joy that we can announce that the Bishop has made Mtr Kim an honorary canon of the Cathedral.

It’s a great honour for her. But, of course, we have been privileged to have received her priestly ministry alongside Fr Ian until a couple of years ago. She serves us and the Diocese in her role as principal of Luther King House. It’s a well deserved recognition of her accomplishments.

We keep Mtr Kim in our prayers and wish her well in her many aspects of ministry - priest, academic and pastor.; and also as a mother to her family.

Fr Kenson - was ordained as deacon last Sunday, where a number from the congregation were able to be present and support. Marking the next stage in Father's ministry, we all send our heartfelt congratulations. He will serve as curate at Manchester Cathedral.

The Julian Meetings: Quiet Day 2025 - Manchester Cathedral

At Manchester Cathedral on Tuesday 8^th July from 10:30am for the 2025 ‘Quiet Day’. All are welcome to attend, and the group will be meeting in the Cathedral Library from 10:30am for refreshments, followed by a guided tour, lunch at 1:00pm ending with a group session of reflective prayer and meditation.

A night of live sacred music, ancient chants, chill grooves and chance to check in with the divine.

Brigantis are a four piece band playing devotional music. Guitar, bass, harmonium, cello percussion and vocals. We come together to sing the various names for the divine. Collectively creating a space to for a personal or communal experience of happiness and peace.
