Dear <<First Name>>
Welcome to this edition of Wysmail, (West Yorkshire Scouts Mailing and Information List.)
As we come to the end of another year, Christmas gives us a moment to pause and reflect on everything we have achieved together as a County.
This year has been one of dedication, resilience and quiet determination. Across our Groups and Districts, young people have been given opportunities to grow, to lead, to try new things and to belong. None of this happens by accident. It happens because of the time, care and commitment shown by our volunteers – often behind the scenes, often after long days at work, and always with young people at the heart of what we do.
We have welcomed new volunteers, supported young leaders, strengthened our approach to safety and inclusion, and continued to adapt so that Scouting remains relevant and accessible to every young person who wants to be part of it. I am incredibly proud of how we have supported one another and stayed true to our values, even when the year has brought its challenges.
Looking ahead to the new year, there is much to be hopeful for. We have exciting opportunities on the horizon with a fantastic schedule of events including section birthdays, & International trips; new partnerships to build and fresh ways to support our young people to develop skills for life. With a new national strategy on the horizon.
Together, we will continue to create safe, inclusive and inspiring spaces where every young person can thrive, and where volunteering in Scouting continues to be rewarding, meaningful and fun.
Thank you for everything you do – for your generosity, your kindness, and your belief in young people. I wish you and your loved ones a peaceful Christmas and a new year filled with hope and possibility.
As Paddington Bear reminds us:
“If we’re kind and polite, the world will be right.”
Merry Christmas, and thank you for being part of our Scouting family
Toby
