Dear Friends of Affinity Ranch,
Happy Fall! October has truly been a month to remember at Affinity Ranch, filled with joy and connection. We had the pleasure of hosting Haunted Horses and our Mane Event Horse Show. It was a delight to meet so many new faces and celebrate the incredible achievements of our clients. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteers whose generous spirits make these events possible. I also want to extend a special shoutout to Jewels Maslin, who poured her heart and soul into ensuring our second annual Horse Show was a resounding success.
As the seasons change, we’ve been busy preparing for winter. We've replaced leaking water hydrants, repaired fences, and ensured that our water trough heaters are in top shape. A big thank you to Hughes Landscaping for their invaluable help with our hydrant repairs!
We’re also excited to share that, thanks to a wonderful donor who wishes to remain anonymous, we’ve completed some much-needed grading to improve drainage in our paddocks and outdoor arena, creating more space for our beautiful equine partners. This enhancement has not only improved functionality but also added to the beauty of our property, and we are truly grateful.
As we approach the holiday season, our Colorado Gives campaign is kicking off! Please consider donating to Affinity Ranch this year. Starting November 2nd, every new monthly donation will be matched, effectively doubling your impact! If you currently donate by check, transitioning to a recurring donation through Colorado Gives is a fantastic way to enhance your support. Additionally, we have a generous donor who will match all donations up to $10,000 during this campaign. Our goal is to raise $50,000 this season to help fund our 2025 budget. With waitlists across all of our programs, these funds will help us extend our transformative services to even more individuals. We encourage you to share this opportunity with friends and family who may want to support a cause close to your heart.
We’re also excited about a special fundraising event at Kendra Scott in Park Meadows Mall on November 17th from 12 PM to 2 PM. They’ll be hosting an online event as well, and if jewelry is on your holiday shopping list, consider making your purchase during this event—20% of sales will come back to Affinity Ranch. Their collection even includes some lovely horse-themed pieces! See flyer on our home page for more info.
Mark your calendars for our annual Holiday with Horses event on December 15th! If you missed it last year, you won’t want to miss it this time. Join us for a magical day with Santa and Mrs. Claus, delicious food, games, crafts, and, of course, horses dressed for the holidays. More details will be available soon on our website for ticket purchases.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Shannon Forslund
