Tuscaloosa sewage spill intervention
Black Warrior Riverkeeper and Friends of Hurricane Creek, represented by the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC), petitioned the Court to join a lawsuit against the city of Tuscaloosa for chronic sewage spills, which violate the Clean Water Act and the Alabama Water Pollution Control Act.

Welcome Mary Allen Murray, Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s new AmeriCorps member! From November 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, Mary Allen will help expand Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s volunteer engagement, litter cleanups, and outreach across the Black Warrior River basin.

We have another great interview from our previous AmeriCorps member, Rosey! Tia’Dra Tucker is the Office Administrator for Councilwoman Carol Clarke of the Birmingham City Council’s District 8, and in partnership with Black Warrior Riverkeeper, Tia’Dra manages cleanups on behalf of District 8.
