We are 22 days away from the 18th annual Point to La Pointe and we’re looking forward to hosting you in Bayfield. Please take the time before you arrive in Bayfield to review this email and our website which we have created so that you can put all your energy into a fun and safe swim.

We’ve done our best to answer all your questions in these two resources. If your question hasn’t been answered by the time you review the resources, please reach out!
As you know, the lake is a is the boss, and a fickle one at that. We’ll be posting water temps and weather conditions on our website, but if you think there is a chance you may swim without a wetsuit, please fill out a waiver form which can be found on the website and email it to me by 11:59pm central, July 22nd. (The safety video says July 15th, but we have extended the date to July 22nd). Return to p2lp@bayfieldrec.org Please note – you MAY NOT fill out a wetsuit waiver on the day of the race. Anyone who swims without a wetsuit without having an approved waiver will be disqualified.

CANCELLATIONS:
In case of individual cancellation or event cancellation due to weather, there are NO REFUNDS, transfers, or credits. If you purchased event cancellation insurance at your time of registration, you may file your claim directly with the insurance company at https://www.fanshield.net/world-map_
Please email us if you cancel so that we may remove you from email lists and know not to expect you on race day.
We are always working to improve, which means this year might be slightly different than previous years you have swam with us. If this is your 1st or 18th year, please take the time to review ALL the information in this email.

EXCITING 2025 OPPORTUNITY: We will be holding a raffle for the 2025 Point to La Pointe. The grand prize for the raffle consists of:

Only 250 tickets will be available for sale on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Pavilion during Packet Pickup. Must be 18 years old to purchase. Please note that federal and state regulations prohibit us from selling tickets online or mailing tickets. We hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity and make a minivacation out of it. Bodin's resort accomodations sleeps 4 and is a beautiful property right on the lake - The Red Cabin.
