One Client came into the shelter, homeless with no income. He wanted to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. He took advantage of the classes held at Goodwill Industries and passed the state examination. Now, he's employed with Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Since he now has a stable income, he can begin looking for housing.
World Homeless Day
World Homeless Day was on October 10th. In recognition of this day, we hosted a community cleanup as well as a community event. We were joined by a few volunteers from FSU's club basketball team at both events!
During our community event, clients had the opportunity to speak with service providers, get their haircut, and pick out some new clothing items.
Fundraising Events
We recently hosted two thrifting fundraising events on FSU's campus. We were joined by student volunteers who made the event possible. If you want to plan a fundraiser on your campus reach out to us by clicking the link below!
On October 12th, we received a visit from the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee. Their "First Love" team helped spruce the place up by pressure washing the building and pruning the shrubs. We can't stop admiring their hard work.
Upcoming Events
Giving Tuesday is on December 3rd, 2024. We will be participating in the day long fundraising drive to cover essential shelter costs. Look out for more information by following along with our social media accounts!

Join us for our largest fundraiser of the year, The Longest Table. We will be hosting a community dinner on December 21st to commemorate the longest night of the year. Dinner will be free of charge so we can eat with our neighbors of all different backgrounds. We are currently looking for event sponsors, please reach out if you are interested!
Donations Needed
We are in desperate need of towels, washcloths, blankets, twin sheet sets, and pillows. You can drop off donations at any time or you can order these much needed items through our Amazon wish list and they will be delivered to the shelter.
