If you've been in the Middle East long enough, you'll be able to remember when the weekend was Thursday-Friday and what it was like when it shifted to Friday-Saturday in 2006. Total mental upheaval. Until it was all OK again. The same is happening now with the work week fully aligned to the Monday-Friday format, so that we are in sync with the West. It makes total sense if the UAE (and other GCC states) wants to reposition itself as a global hub for business. We had no reservations about making the change – change like this, where a global mindset is established, can only be a good thing! Roll on the new week!
