Advance Colorado, in partnership with a group of Colorado business leaders, has launched the Colorado Strong Business Alliance (CSBA), founded with the goal of restoring our state's economic vitality that's been tarnished by years of anti-jobs policy. CSBA has unveiled a robust agenda aimed at rebuilding Colorado’s reputation as a pro-business, job-friendly state by unapologetically advocating for pro-growth, job-creating policies and vigorously battling proposals that would further damage the state’s economy. “Colorado’s current economic trajectory is unsustainable, and the early signs in this new year are that policymakers are determined to continue to walk down the same failed path,” said Kristi Pollard, CSBA Executive Director. “That’s why business leaders have launched this new coalition that will aggressively champion a vibrant economy that creates opportunity for all.”
Kristi published an opinion piece in Colorado Politics detailing CSBA's agenda.
PUSHING BACK ON GOVERNMENT GREED: OPPOSING HOME EQUITY THEFT
Did you know that in the event of a foreclosure, local governments in Colorado can take not only back taxes a homeowner owes, but all equity attached to that property? Homeowners could see their entire life savings wiped out through government greed.
This practice -- known as "Home Equity Theft" -- was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court last year. States, including Colorado, must act to abolish it. This is a key priority in the Advance Colorado 2024 Policy Agenda.
Advance Colorado President Michael Fields outlined why it's time to end Home Equity Theft in a recent opinion piece inThe Colorado Sun.
PARENTS & STUDENTS DESERVE AN EDUCATIONAL EMPOWERMENT AGENDA
A central pillar of Moving Colorado Forward, Advance Colorado's 2024 Policy Agenda is a renewed focus on educational empowerment. Our agenda includes Education Savings Accounts for special needs families, enshrining school choice in the state constitution, increasing school transparency for parents and more.
Advance Colorado Executive Vice President Kristi Burton Brown published an op-ed in yesterday's edition of The Pueblo Chieftainproviding an in-depth look at our education agenda.
Watch for a strong push for these positive agenda items -- and what YOU can do to advocate for them -- throughout this year's legislative session.
