It was an honour to mark the 85th anniversary of the little ships sailing from Ramsgate to rescue 300,000 men from Dunkirk during World War II, with a Royal Marines parade and a plaque unveiled by Prince Michael of Kent. It was a moving reminder of Ramsgate’s proud role in this remarkable chapter of our history.
It was also a pleasure to take part in events across the constituency to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, including enjoying performances at the bandstand in Broadstairs and Margate’s procession and beacon lighting.
