This is an enjoyable long read that will make your brain buzz. I recommend dedicating an hour to delve into this blog post. It covers predictions regarding AI in 2024 and beyond. The author, Scott Belsky, initially caught my attention with his book 'Making Ideas Happen,' a mantra that deeply resonates with me. Today, as a VP at Adobe, he consistently publishes content on creativity and how AI is transforming the industry. Here are my takeaways from the eight forecasts outlined in the article, expressed in my own words: - Marketing: AI is leveling the playing field, making it easier for small companies to compete with larger brands. AI systems and tools empower them, with imagination being the only limit, not skills.
- Creators: The process of writing code will transition to coding by writing prompts, beginning with internal applications and established app concepts. This transition extends beyond code; creators working on an app will also handle web design, welcome email content, and more. (This aligns with my personal conviction, and I've explored this concept extensively last year.)
- Productivity & Skills: The concept of a "talent stack" highlights the value of individuals working across disciplines, enabled by AI. Organizations benefit greatly from employees who can seamlessly switch between disciplines. While startups inherently embrace this advantage, larger companies should recognize the benefits of hiring versatile professionals who can excel across disciplines. (This essentially mirrors who I am—a generalist across disciplines.)
- AI Tech: Belsky believes that we won't end up dependent on a few massive AI models. Instead, he envisions a future where locally operating AI agents on our smartphones outperform these models tenfold in everyday consumer scenarios while preserving privacy.
- The education sector is poised for a complete transformation. Personal AI learning assistants will enable the creation of custom-tailored curricula, designed to cater to the talents and needs of individual students. Could this finally mark the time when we leave traditional grading systems behind?
There are plenty more thought-provoking ideas to explore in this extensive read.

How often do you find yourself printing out your Google Docs? Chances are, not very often. So, why continue creating digital documents in a fixed page format? In September 2023, Google introduced a feature called "pageless" for Google Docs. Surprisingly, it hasn't gained widespread adoption yet. This feature transforms your letter-sized document with page breaks into a seamlessly scrollable document. At first glance, it may not seem revolutionary, but using this feature allows you to maximize your available screen space, as your text is no longer confined to a specific width. Here's how to activate and use it. Want to get featured here? Send me a hack you would recommend.

Octopus is a neat looking web application designed for crafting sitemaps and wireframes with ease. Beyond its core features, Octopus supports collaboration, AI-driven initial wireframe creation, URL crawling, and seamless integration with Figma, among other functionalities. I stumbled upon this tool during my collaboration with a copywriter on the new Fresh van Root agency homepage. Noteworthy about Octopus is the ability to explore the product without the need for an account creation.

The easiest way to describe this app is: It's like Canva, but with fewer features and options. And for some users, that's an advantage. Canva has evolved into a suite of tools for various purposes, from creating social media graphics to designing presentations and websites. In contrast, Kittls concentrates solely on image and graphic creation. It's particularly praised for its advanced features in text customization.

Curious if your blog posts make it into AI chat systems like ChatGPT and others? I have tested that out with one of my own posts. Results are up on the Fresh van Root blog.

This newsletter vs. a new website I'm once again focusing on redesigning the Fresh van Root website. To make this possible, I'll be reducing the content in this newsletter to just two content and app tips. This will allow me to maintain the bi-monthly frequency while freeing up some time to work on the website. Please bear with me! I am confident that, on the third try, our new website will see the light!
