The New Hampshire INBRE has opened two programs – Graduate School Mentoring and Medical School Mentoring — to the Arkansas INBRE network. Each program consists of a series of 1.5 hour Zoom sessions preparing undergraduate students for applying to either graduate programs or medical school. Topics range from preparing applications, shadowing experiences, MCAT prep, interview prep, application tips, and what to expect. For more information or to register for either program follow the link to the attached flyers:
Graduate School Mentoring Program (PDF)The Graduate School Mentoring Program is designed to guide aspiring graduate students through the complex and often overwhelming process of selecting and applying to graduate school. Each session, hosted by current graduate students who are NH-INBRE alumni, offers in-depth exploration of different topics every month in a 1.5-hour live Zoom format. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, receive feedback on their application materials, and gain insights from those who have successfully navigated the process themselves.
Medical School Mentoring Program (PDF) The average medical school acceptance rate is 5.5%. The NH INBRE Alumni Association’s medical school mentoring program is aimed at providing resources, support, and networking opportunities to college students to help them navigate the challenging pre-med path. Each session is hosted by current medical students who are alumni of INBRE. These 1.5 hour live zoom sessions are dedicated to addressing a certain topic each month. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback.

Information for the NIH Extramural Community During the Lapse of Federal Government Funding (NOT-OD-26-004, Oct 1, 2025)
As you may be aware, there has been a lapse in appropriated federal fund as of Oct 1, 2025. Because a funding lapse has occurred, please be advised that NIH staff may not be available to provide normal oversight and administrative support services.
For awards received prior to the lapse in funding, you may be able to continue drawing funds from prior awards during an appropriations lapse. HHS’s Payment Management System will remain operational to continue processing those drawdown requests. The robust internal controls that currently exist will continue to ensure the integrity of grant drawdown requests and payments. Please note, if you received your notice of grant award with restrictive terms and conditions, or if your drawdown request triggers one of the Payment Management System edit checks and/or the drawdown limit controls, you may not be able to drawdown funds.
This notice includes information on Contact with NIH Staff, Submission of Grant Applications, Peer Review and Council Meetings, Awarded Grants and Animal Welfare. Read more
