In December 2023, our team flew to Malaysia for a two-week mission trip. Local laws strictly forbid sharing the Gospel with Muslims, and churches must hide in plain sight. Despite this, local believers showed fearless courage, and we successfully started a student Bible club at Monash University.

Meeting spiritually hungry students there broke my heart, especially those who had never once heard of Jesus. We visited mosques, Hindu temples, and Buddhist shrines, and realized just how invisible the Christian faith is in that culture. Seeing millions of people with zero access to the Gospel completely transformed me.

I now carry a burning conviction to pray for the unreached. And I urge everyone to take a mission trip, at least once in their life.

I came into this trip with doubts and fears. But God had other plans. Through campus outreach, orphanage ministry, and time with local missionaries in Colombo, I discovered something I couldn’t manufacture on my own: a genuine burden for the lost.

At a Buddhist temple near the end of the trip, walking past idol after idol and one lost soul after another, my heart broke. I could no longer see the people around me as strangers. I saw them as God’s beloved lost sheep. That visit answered a prayer I’d been praying for years: “Lord, break my heart for what breaks Yours.”

We donated 20 Bibles to the orphanage kids. Four students showed up to church on our last Sunday. A paralyzed man opened his heart to Christ. Mission trips don’t just change the world — they change you in ways you can’t undo.
