Kolchak: The Night Stalker
An oldie but goodie: When I was seven years old I stumbled upon an episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalker that featured a headless motorcycle rider with a taste for blood. In the dark, snug under a thick blanket, I watched as newspaper reporter Carl Kolchak, played by Darren McGavin, tracked down and defeated the skeletal killer. It terrified me, but I couldn't get enough--and the following week I tuned in for more. By current standards, the special effects were quite cheesy, but nevertheless, this show sparked in me a love for horror and sci-fi that would last forever.
