Season’s greetings!

As we have been open for just over a year now, we thought it was about time we sent you a newsletter update!
New faces

Firstly, if you haven’t already met them, we would like to introduce you to our wonderful new vets, Harriet and Niamh.

Harriet qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2018 and worked for three years in a small animal practice in Norfolk before joining our team at Aldeburgh Vets in December 2021. She enjoys all aspects of first opinion work but has particular interests in dermatology and soft tissue surgery.

Niamh grew up in Tipperary, and qualified in Dublin in 2010, before moving to Suffolk, where she has worked for the last 10 years. Alongside her first opinion work, Niamh also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2016. She is now undertaking a certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology which she hopes to complete in 2024.
During the summer we were also joined by Chloe and Anna (below). To see our full team please visit our website.
The holidays are coming…

Please see below our Christmas opening times.

As Christmas falls on a Saturday this year, we have the Monday and Tuesday as Bank Holidays -  this means the practice would normally be closed for 4 consecutive days. However, this can be a very long time if you have poorly pets at home that need to be seen by a vet.

So, between 9 am and 12 noon, on the mornings of Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th of December, we will be available for urgent appointments only. These appointments will be charged at £64.50 and can only be booked on the day (no pre-booking).
Please remember that if you have an emergency outside of these dates, please do not hesitate to get in to contact with the MiNight out of hours service.

Christmas Hazards

This leads us onto the dangers at Christmas to look out for!

The festive season is the time to indulge, celebrate and have fun – and as part of the family, our pets will normally be enjoying some of the action too.

However, this time of year can also present some hidden dangers to our four-legged friends, from toxic foods to dangerous seasonal plants.

To ensure your pet remains safe this Christmas, please take a look at our website to make sure you’re in the know about what dangers to keep your pets away from during the festive season.
Amazing technology

As you may already know, we have a CT scanner in-house and we are one of only a few “First Opinion” practices in the country to have one. This means that you don’t have to travel long distances to a referral centre for any 3D digital imaging.
CT scanning allows us to take 3D images of your pet with exceptionally high levels of detail.
We can use CT scans to look for problems that might not be seen on an x-ray, such as an internal growth, a very small fracture, or something soft that you pet has swallowed, the uses are endless!
We can then build 3D computer images to help us diagnose certain conditions, and accurately pinpoint the problem area to decide the next stage of treatment.

Online ordering

We're online!

We have recently launched our online pet shop where you can purchase the ‘More’ pet food range as well as selected long-term medications. You can order at any time or day or night and we’ll contact you when your products are ready to collect. Members of our Healthcare Plan or Unlimited Consultation Plan can benefit from further discounts on these products.

Please note that a vet will need to authorise any long-term medicines purchased before they can be dispensed.

If you would like to know a little more about the online pet shop and how to get further discounts, please get in touch by emailing us on [email protected] or by giving us a call on 01728 598111.
