Let's Cover Old Town in Marigold Garland & Papel Picado

Balloon Fiesta was an amazingly vibrant and successful week for Old Town. Thank you to the City of Albuquerque for hosting the live music everyday as well as the Old Town community for sharing the uniqueness of Old Town with the thousands of visitors this past week. What a great week!

Now on to Dia de los Muertos - We are 10 days away!

Here is a quick checklist of things to start doing:

Decorations! Marigold Garland & Papel Picado: Come to Salsa Saint (11am-5pm everyday) to pick up as many marigold garlands as you can decorate the exterior of you building, or ofrendas with. Bring a container (large box or trash bag).
Let us to Decorate Your Building's High Places: Let us hang marigold garland and papel picado for you! All you have to do is sign up here! If you already signed-up, Francisco has you on his list and has already started decorating. Woo hoo!!
Build an Ofrenda: We already have 20+ ofrendas that will be built in Old Town. We HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you (merchants, residents, property owners) to sign-up to build an ofrenda. Why?
- Take part in this significant cultural celebration: It's the reason for the DDLM celebration, to remember and celebrate those who we've lost. And remember, you can be creative in who and what you are remembering.
- Merchants will receive additional foot-traffic from people wandering Old Town to find the ofrendas.
- Collectible Tote: Any merchants who build an ofrenda will also be able to sell the 2024 Collectible Tote, with artwork by Manuel Salas, designed specifically for DDLM 2024. It is stunning!
  - At the start of DDLM Oct 25th, we will drop off your share of Collectible Totes to sell for $15 (everyone will sell at the same price).
  - At the end of the event (Week of Nov 4th), we will pickup all unsold totes along with a payment for $10 per tote sold. That's it!

New Old Town Map: Listing is $75 per year. Feel free to subscribe at any point. You will be included in the next printing and your subscription will start the day maps are delivered with your business on them. Printing is done 3-4 times per year.

Discovery Map: Pricing is available by reaching out via the website.

Church Street Cafe Map: Church Street Cafe has a map where the listings are free. Marie lists all businesses in Old Town when the menu is updated and reprinted.
