Fr Francis Denton will put forward the case for the absolute necessity of beauty in the work of restoring an authentically Christian culture. He will explore the oftentimes controversial role of art in the history of the Church and examine the causal link between the decline in the Catholic arts and the collapse of Christian culture in the west. Not convinced? Come along and find out!Fr Francis Denton is currently serving as the parish priest of St Patrick's Lilydale. He has a major in Art History from the University of Melbourne and is an amateur artist and iconographer.
