Welcome to the February bulletin.

If you are reading this, you have hopefully paid your membership subscription for 2026. If you have forgotten to renew your subscription, then unfortunately, you will need to reapply for membership (which if successful, will include repayment of the joining fee as well as the annual subscription).

February promises to be very musical with two fantastic bands book-ending the month, along with a much-anticipated music quiz. Hope to see you all there.

A word from our Chairman

Dear Members. Thank you all of you who renewed their memberships and to all those doing dry January in a very wet month. Big thank you to Thorny and Phil for spending the day (free of charge) putting up the new acoustic wall in the family room! Hope you all like it, I think it looks great and improves the look and sound in the room. Also a big thanks to all of the Committee that have worked really hard for the club over the last few months. Here's to a great February for all our members.

Club matters

New memberships window now closed

We are no longer taking new membership applications, and the names of all the applicants are now available on the noticeboard for review. The next membership window will be open throughout June.

At the Club this month

Heathrow Jets

The Heathrow Jets, Britain’s premier indie and punk rock covers band, return to The Broadway. Featuring your favourite party floor-fillers by the Killers, Foo Fighters, Kings Of Leon, Green Day, Stereophonics, Blur, Nirvana, Blink 182, Oasis, Feeder and Kaiser Chiefs together with classic punk by The Clash, The Members, The Sex Pistols and Buzzcocks, they never disappoint.

Join us on Saturday 7th February for what will be a great night of live music. As usual, the entry price for guests is £3 on the door.

Music quiz night

In a change from our regular quiz, there will be a music-based quiz which takes place on Saturday 21st February. Teams should contain no more than six players and entries are charged at £2 per person, with cash prizes available for the top three teams.

If you would like to take part, simply add your name to the registration sheet on the noticeboard. We are also taking food orders, so if you would like to eat during the event, make sure your order is placed and paid for by Wednesday 18th February. We are also accepting entries on the night, so if you're unable to get to the Club until Saturday, you are still able to participate.

Brobed Stils

Brobed Stils are back once again at The Broadway! They play every kind of music under the sun from blues to rock to reggae to soul to African music – whatever the audience wants to hear! Although they have become particularly known for their excellent interpretations of Bob Marley classics, heir repertoire includes everything from Van Morrison to the Rolling Stones, Dire Straits to Otis Redding.

Come on down to the Club on Saturday 28th February for another evening of great entertainment. The entry price for guests is £3, payable on the door.

Meat raffle

Don't forget about our meat raffle, which takes place on Friday 27th February between 9pm and 10pm with some great prizes to be won. Tickets are available at the bar, payable in cash.

Club competitions

The annual darts competition took place on Saturday 31st January and once again, there was fierce competition for victory in both the singles and doubles events. It was a great night for Martyn Brown particularly as he not only won the singles competition, he also partnered with Rob Lake to triumph in the doubles contest.

Many thanks to Dave Harris who once again organised this great Broadway tradition and made sure that the competition ran smoothly.
