Aloha <<First Name>>,
The Hoʻoikaika Partnership is proud to announce the relaunch of
Healing the Healers, a restorative, culturally grounded program designed to strengthen and sustain Maui’s service providers who work tirelessly with vulnerable keiki and their ʻohana.
This renewed effort is made possible through a powerful collaboration with
Wisdom Circles Oceania (WSO), an organization known for its Indigenous‑led healing practices, expressive arts, and trauma
‑informed, community‑centered facilitation.
Sessions will be held at KAʻEHU, a deeply spiritual place where ancestral presence, land stewardship, and community healing converge. Thanks to funding from Maui County, Healing the Healers is offered at no cost to participants.
Facilitated by WSO, Healing the Healers offers a safe, nurturing environment where service providers can replenish their own well‑being, reconnect with ʻāina, and build supportive relationships with peers who understand the emotional weight of this work.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup.” These sessions are not simply an optional professional development activity; self-care is an ethical imperative and a direct investment in workplace wellness. Participation provides an opportunity to restore balance, prevent burnout, strengthen resilience, and return to work renewed and better equipped to serve.
Please share this newsletter and flier with your staff and colleagues. You may also consider downloading and distributing a
letter to agency leaders that provides additional context for the importance of allowing staff release time to attend these sessions.
The long‑term health of our workforce, and the quality of care we provide to Maui’s families, depends on our collective commitment to sustaining those who give so much of themselves. Mahalo for your dedication to creating a healthier, more resilient Maui.
With appreciation,
Ho'oikaika Partnership
