Dear Friends,
The start of a new year is a moment to reflect and be thankful for the positive things that have unfolded over the past year. I am deeply grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received from friends, associates, and collectors – three groups that beautifully overlap.
It's been heartening to see how my work – exploring the complexities of imperfect technologies and the choices we make in using them – continues to resonate with audiences.
Paris provided the perfect venue to present my AI hallucinations and discuss the ongoing hype around artificial intelligence. Several of my Quantum Drawings, highlighting the fragility of blockchain technologies, were exhibited in
Beijing, China – including one displayed in a custom-built pyramid. My artist group,
darktaxa-project, and I explored post-photography in exhibitions across
Regensburg,
Düsseldorf, and
Chemnitz, Germany. In Belgium, my
Learning Nature flowers appeared in over 200 cities on public signage. And the year concluded in Miami at the
Untitled Art Fair, showcasing some of my earliest AI works from 2018 and 2019.
This holiday season has offered a welcome respite from the past year's global turbulences. It's provided space to contemplate the challenges ahead and how to face them. I remain convinced that art holds unique power to illuminate important themes that often get overshadowed by our culture's fixation on scale, efficiency, and "the new." As we enter 2025, I'm committed to continuing this work.
