2026 NATA Foundation Professional Research Grant Awardees

Each year, the NATA Foundation proudly supports exceptional research projects submitted through both the Professional Research Grant Program and the Student Research Grant Program. These initiatives help fuel evidence-based practice and advance the athletic training profession.

We are excited to announce this year’s Professional Grant Awardees, each of whom has received funding to pursue innovative, impactful research. June's Research to Clinical Practice: Long Duration Ultrasound

Long duration ultrasound is changing the way clinicians approach pain management and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. This issue explores how wearable ultrasound technology delivers continuous therapeutic treatment for up to four hours, providing significantly greater energy delivery than traditional therapeutic ultrasound while maintaining tissue safety. You'll also learn how long duration ultrasound may help reduce pain, improve function, support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries and knee osteoarthritis, and potentially accelerate return-to-play.
