🌟 New Project 🤝 Empowering Ethnic Professionals for Board Roles |
|
At Migrant Careers Support Trust, our mission has always been to empower ethnic professionals in New Zealand. Over the past 3-4 years, we've tirelessly worked at the grassroots level, providing vital upskilling support to help our talented community members secure excellent job opportunities. 🌐💼But our vision reaches higher, and today, we are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking new project. We believe that diversity in governance is essential, and there are countless qualified, experienced Kiwis with ethnic backgrounds ready to make a significant impact at the highest levels. 🌍🌆That's why we're delighted to share that we've recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Governance New Zealand Inc. Governance NZ is New Zealand’s only truly chartered professional body focused on best practice governance for individuals & organisations. Together with the incredible Julie Hardaker, Chairperson of Governance NZ, we're on a mission to bridge the knowledge gap and introduce aspiring professionals to the world of Governance. 📜🤝Governance is a distinct skill set that requires learning and refinement. Through our upcoming workshops, we aim to equip you with the expertise needed to excel in board roles and contribute your unique perspective to decision-making processes. 📚✨We invite senior professionals like you to join hands with us and be a part of this transformative initiative. Whether you choose to support us or participate in these workshops, your involvement will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of governance in New Zealand. 🙌Stay tuned for exciting updates in this space. Together, we can unlock a world of opportunities and usher in a new era of diversity and excellence in governance.

More than 30 migrants and job seekers attended our recent Migrant Careers Support Trust - Job Seekers Boot Camp in Auckland, making it a resounding success.
It was well attended, and the group of inquisitive and new migrants were very excited to learn more about Kiwi work culture and how to network.
The event started with Dr. Sheerali Arya's session on making a good CV and how to face interviews. Then Eugene Velasco gave a talk on employment rights and responsibilities, followed by Monika Tylova who talked about how Kiwis work in general.
If you missed this event, don't worry! We'll be hosting more soon!
